Joseph FireCrow Performs Live

2010 Native American Music Award Winner for Artist of the Year, Joseph FireCrow, will perform live at Southern Exposure.

FireCrow, now residing in Connecticut, was born and raised in Montana on the Northern Cheyenne reservation. According to the press release, "After being away from the reservation for a considerable period of time, the flute came back into his life at age 18 when he attended Brigham Young University and took a course on Native American music taught by John Rainer, Jr."

He has received numerous awards for his work including "Artist of the Year" and "Best Flute Recording" for his most recent CD "Face the Music" at the 2010 Native American Music Awards. He has also been awarded a Grammy at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards; and Songwriter of the Year and Best Instrumental Recording from the Native American Music Awards in 2003 and 2005.

The concert is free and open to the public. Performance is scheduled for Friday, December 10, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Southern Exposure location at 12c Olde Mistick Village, Mystic, CT.
