Five Great Deals: Feb. 9-15

We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars.

This column will be dedicated to giving you five great local deals each week that will help your family’s bottom line, and since we do the scouting for you, you can save time as well as money.

3. Try Tai Chi

Deal: The first class is free.  If interested after initial class the fee is $40 for 10 sessions!  4 bucks a class.  Gary Donovan, a certified intructor of Tai Chi and Quqong, holds a class Wednesdays from 2:45 to 3:45pm in the lower level of the Robert A. 4. Free Tax Help

Deal:  Certified volunteers from AARP will be able to do tax returns at the from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.  Call (860) 536-7721 for an appointment on Feb.22, March 8 and 22nd, April 5 and 12th.  Free.

5. $6 Movies

 Deal: $6 movies at Groton Cinema 6 on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.  Located in the Groton Shoppers Mart by Big Y.  Call (860) 445-7469 for times and more information.
