A New London man has been charged with strangling another man to death at a local boarding house.

STONINGTON, CT - A New London man has been charged following the death of a Pawcatuck man during a consensual sexual encounter at the Elm Tree Inn last month, according to the Westerly Sun. Brian Mitchell, 30, was charged with first-degree manslaughter at New London Superior Court Thursday.
He was held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
The victim was William Heine, 42, of Pawcatuck. Police found Heine dead at his room Jan. 15, according to a report in The Day. When he was found, he had two pillows under his head, a blanket tucked up to his neck and a sobriety coin in his hand.

Investigation determined that Heine had been considerably before he was found. Surveillance footage showed Mitchell going in and out of Heine's apartment several times Jan. 12 and 13, the Sun reported.
Mitchell at first said he couldn't remember much about the night Heine was killed but later admitted to choking him, the Day reported.
