Messiah Sit and Sing in Stonington

Calvary Music School's Annual Messiah Sit and Sing!

Calvary Music School will present its annual Messiah Sit & Sing on Saturday, December 6th at 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church in Stonington. You are invited to experience Handel’s great masterwork by singing along or simply coming to listen. For those who want to brush up on their Messiah choruses, an open rehearsal will be held at 5:00 p.m. on the day of the performance. Scores will be available for those who are unable to bring their own.

In addition to singing along on choruses, you will have the opportunity to hear professional soloists singing Handel’s well-known arias, accompanied by string ensemble and organ. Soloists will be soprano Adele Paxton, contralto Margaret Tyler, tenor Spencer Hamlin, and baritone Paul Fletcher. The performance will be conducted by Joseph Ripka, artistic director at Calvary Music School and choirmaster and organist at Calvary Church.

The annual Messiah Sit & Sing is a long-standing tradition at Calvary Church. Proceeds from tickets, which are $10 at the door for audience and chorus participants, help Calvary Music School continue to produce this treasured Stonington area tradition. (27 Church Street, Stonington, CT) 860-535-1181.
