Mexicali Fresh Mex Grill Gets OK to Open in Pawcatuck
The Mexican eatery is part of a chain. Several restaurants have tried their luck at the South Broad Street location. Will this one make it?

The Stonington Planning and Zoning Commission approved a plan for a new Mexican restaurant for the plaza across from Stonington High School in Pawcatuck, according to a PZC member. According to the application, the Mexicali Fresh Mex Grill calls for a 80-seat restaurant and 32-seat full bar. The newly approved restaurant is one more link in the Mexacali chain found in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
As we noted earlier this week, Many, many restaurants have tried to make a go of it at the 163 South Broad Street location, but rarely has one been successful.
