Milford Makes List Of Best Towns In CT

MILFORD, CT — With plenty of history, a scenic coastline, and some of the country's most festive Christmas towns, Connecticut has plenty in its favor. It also has a wealth of enchanting small towns, including one that inspired the quintessentially quaint Stars Hollow in "Gilmore Girls."

House Beautiful has ranked the 30 top small towns in the state, and Milford made the list.

The "Small City with a Big Heart" ranked ninth. Here's what House Beautiful had to say about Milford:

"Take a walk on the charming side in Milford's downtown, with its bounty of breweries, restaurants, and water views. Like many Connecticut towns, there's also an outdoor draw: Silver Sands State Park, a public recreation space with beaches, dunes, restored marshland, and a 14-acre bird sanctuary. The town also makes for a pretty magical Christmas destination."

Also included on the list is Washington, which was the inspiration for Stars Hollow.
