• New Shop With Unique Offerings Opens In Mystic (patch.com) — Residents in Mystic and greater Stonington have a new spot to browse sports cards, comics, rare coins, Pokémon cards, and other collectibles at The Treasure Chest of Mystic in Olde Mistick Village. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the shop sits beside its sister store, Crest and Compass, which focuses on old world maps, family crests, and historic toys.
   

• Westerly man charged with strangulation, assault in Stonington home invasion, police say (nhregister.com) — Police say a woman was injured during a Sept. 17 domestic incident inside a Stonington home, where a Westerly man allegedly forced entry, assaulted her, and damaged her room. He was later arrested at Stonington Police Department, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, and was released on $50,000 bond while the case proceeds.
