MYSTIC, CT - Mystic Aquarium is planning a major, 10-year renovation effort for which the attraction expects to spend $25 million to $50 million, according to officials.

Plans call for new exhibits of various animals and sea creatures, such penguins, sharks and otters, reports The Day.

“The facility is 45 years old," Stephen Coan, president of the aquarium's parent organization, the Sea Research Foundation, told The Day. "It’s very much in need of an update in terms of our infrastructure."
