Mystic Bake Shop Owner Competes on Food Network, Airing this Weekend

The winner of the competition will receive $50,000.

MYSTIC, CT - A Mystic bake shop owner recently competed on a show for the Food Network, as reported by the New London Day.

Sift Bake Shop owner Adam Young competed on the network’s Spring Baking Championships this summer, according to the New London Day. The seven-episode series will air Sunday starting at 9 p.m.

Young is not allowed to reveal how he fared in the competition until the last episode has aired, the New London Day reported. The winner of the baking cook off will receive $50,000.

According to the bakery's website, Sift Bake Shop is a family owned and French focused bakery "specializing in artisanal breads, pastries, desserts, macarons, signature cakes, savory items and more."

Every menu item is made fresh from scratch daily, with bakers arriving at 3 a.m. to begin preparations. Customers are even able to watch the bakers hard at work through glass windows.

In addition to pastries, Sift also serves sandwiches such as roast turkey on a croissant with brie. Various coffees and teas are also available.
