MYSTIC, CT — Concerns over Covid 19 and safety for the public have led the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce to forgo its annual downtown holiday celebrations during Thanksgiving weekend. Santa Arrives by Tugboat, the Tree Lighting and the Mystic Lighted Boat Parade will resume next year when the pandemic is past. A tree will be put up and lighted in the Mystic River Park this year but without the usual festivities.

The Chamber wishes to thank the event sponsors, Foxwoods Resort Casino, Groton Utilities, The Day and Chelsea Groton Bank for their generous support for these holiday events. “We are so fortunate to have these generous partners in the holiday programs that so many look forward to each year. We will miss the fun but hope to be back better than ever in 2021,” said Chamber President Peggy Roberts.
