MYSTIC, CT - A group of residents will oppose a plan to redevelop an 11.5-acre lot on Mystic River at an upcoming Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, according to The New London Day. The development, dubbed Smiler's Wharf, will include a second restaurant, marine services, a 50-room hotel, and a mix of 47 apartments, townhouses and single-family homes.

Those who oppose it say that the plans do not fit with the town's Plan of Conservation and hurts the village's character. However, developers say that they've created the plans with the intention of blending into the neighborhood.
