The Mystic Memorial Day Parade, which had been previously canceled, will go forward Monday.

MYSTIC, CT — The Mystic Memorial Parade is back on after a previous announcement that it would be canceled. The cancellation was due to missing a paperwork deadline.

However, the Mystic VFW posted on its Facebook page that the parade will happen on Monday.

Here's the post from the Mystic VFW by Commander Elect Craig Floyd:

"Latest update. Today I received a phone call from the Stonington Chief of Police who said he had made some calls and we can hold the parade if we still want to. I reached out to our Current Commander and Parade Chair Bill Landry and presented him with this news. He has said 'March on' so the Memorial Day Parade is a go kicking off at 2:00pm on Monday from Water Street. Services will start at the VFW post around 3:15 with a memorial service led by Commander Landry and then our FREE chicken BBQ with, Burgers, Hotdogs, Macaroni Salad, Potato Salad, Clam Chowder and Clam fritters. Come join us if you can, we may be a bit smaller than originally planned but we shall. March On

"Veterans who wish to march or ride should be at the post no later than 12:45 for transport to the staging area.
