Newborn Delivered After I-95 Fatal Crash Dies

A baby born following the death of her mother in an automobile accident on Interstate 95 Tuesday has also died, NBC Connecticut reports.

Maya Christiana Brown was delivered by emergency C-section Tuesday following the late-morning crash which took the life of her mother, Alexandra Brown, 26, of Niantic.

Officials from the Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island, where Maya was born, confirmed she died Wednesday night.

Brown’s car apparently “veered to the left and struck a metal rope guardrail” around 11 a.m. near Exit 91 in Stonington, NBC has reported.
