Firefighters Extinguish Basement Blaze In North Stonington
An electrical fire broke out in a home's basement Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.
NORTH STONINGTON, CT — Firefighters battled an electrical fire in a basement Wednesday morning, according to a Facebook post from the North Stonington Fire Company.
Crews were dispatched to a Jeremy Hill Road address at 11:24 a.m. Firefighters confirmed an active blaze in the basement and called a first alarm.
They determined that the fire was electrical and originated from the home's feed. Eversource shut down the electrical grid, allowing the fire to be extinguished.

"Thanks to a quick response and well-trained crew, the fire was contained to the basement," the fire company wrote.
Several area fire departments provided mutual aid.
