Obituary: Jean M. (Carter) Spencer, 92, of Stonington
She enjoyed sixty-eight years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bob.

Jean M. (Carter) Spencer, 92, of Stonington, CT departed this world for her heavenly home on Friday, July 13th, 2018. She passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital with her sons by her side.
Born in Melrose, MA on October 29, 1925 she was the daughter to the late John and Irene (Capers) Carter and lived in Stonington since 1993. Her husband, Robert L. Spencer predeceased her in 2014 and her only sibling, Eleanor Laycock predeceased her in 2017.

She enjoyed sixty-eight years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bob. To see Jean and Bob together was to see a couple whose love for one another grew more and more with each passing year.
She was a fashionable and compassionate person who touched all those she met with kindness and understanding. She enjoyed oil painting, playing cards and boating with her family and traveling and cruising with her dear husband.

She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Brian Spencer of Stonington and Barry Spencer and his wife, Lindy of Wauwatosa, WI; and two grandchildren, Nicole, of Wauwatosa, WI and Shawn of Jackson, WI.
The family would like to thank the staff of Stonington Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the wonderful paramedics, doctors and nurses at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital for the timely and compassionate care Mrs. Spencer received during her time of need.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday, July 18th from 12:00-1:00 pm followed by a service at 1:00 pm at the Mystic Funeral Home located on Route 1 in Mystic, CT. Her burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery Route 27 in Mystic.
