Police Seize Over 20 Cats, Remove 3 Dead Dogs From Home: Report

Police said officers removed 21 cats, three live dogs and three dead ones from a home in Torrington.

TORRINGTON, CT - Police said officers removed 21 cats, three live dogs and three dead ones from a home in Torrington on Friday, as reported by NBC Connecticut. The investigation came after Torrington Regional Animal Control received a call from someone concerned about the animals' well-being.

Police said officers located the Beachwood Avenue home, but were forced to obtain a warrant as the owner was uncooperative and would not let police check on the animals, according to NBC Connecticut. Officers subsequently located 21 cats and three dogs living in the house, as well as three dead dogs, police said.

Police said officers had difficulty gathering the animals due to clutter and items piled around the house, NBC Connecticut reported. The investigation is ongoing, and the animals will be cared for by Torrington Regional Animal Control, police said.
