Rhode Island’s top chefs are in love in with Stonington’s Bomster scallops.
GoLocalProv recently set out to find the four things every foodie should try in the New Year and they discovered Bomster Scallops at are the secret of some of Rhode Island’s best chefs.
According to GoLocalProv the scallops from taste so good because “the Bomster family has perfected a method of shucking, rinsing with sea water, vacuum sealing and flash freezing that produces a scallop that holds up better than a lot of fresh scallops.”

They recommend you try the seared scallops and vanilla-scented parsnip puree at Chef Jake Rojas’s Newport restaurant Tallulah on Thames, or the scallops and native corn at Persimmon in Bristol or that you head down to Stonington’s docks and pick up your own to try seared with butter and thyme.
