Stonington Borough Dog Park Decision Delayed Again Due to State Statute
After months of discussion, a decision has been delayed again.

STONINGTON, CT- A decision regarding the fencing of a borough dog park has been delayed again, the Westerly Sun reported.
Borough lawyer Nick Kepple was notified just moments before a public hearing on a 3 foot, 11 inch fence for the property that a state statute requires the town’s Harbor Management Commission be notified at least 35 days before actions on property affecting the harbor are taken, according to the Westerly Sun. The Planning & Zoning Commission realized it could affect the application in the long run, even though it would also cause an immediate delay.
This is the the third time the project has been delayed since a recommendation was sent by the Sewer Treatment Expansion Plan Ad Hoc Committee in the spring, according to the Westerly Sun. A special meeting on the subject was scheduled for Aug. 23 at 6:30 p.m., leaving the commission until Sept. 3 to make a decision.
