Stonington "Patriots" ??

I just got back from the Borough, and the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence. I used to enjoy this event when I first moved here, but I had to leave  early, my heart heavy...

CT, and Stonington, demographics tell me that most of the people there, while listening to the "long line of usurpations and abuses" that our Founding Fathers railed against, actually vote for politicians who unleash their own brand of abuses that would make our Founding Fathers blanch with disgust.

Folks, it is not enough to wave a little flag once a year, and think that satisfies your duty as an American. You must cherish what was bought for you, understand the sacrifices paid by those before you, and jealously guard those rights, the ones that used to "be self-evident", and hand them down un-altered to your children and grand-children.

Ask yourself: How many of us would have the guts to sign that Declaration of Independence, were we around back then? How many would sign it today?

The demographics give me a clue. And it makes me both sad, and mad, that we have the gall to put the phrase "The Constitution State" on our license plates.

Look up from your iPhone. Look around at what is happening to this great nation. And take a stand. Be saddened that you could not sign that Declaration yourself. And do your part to take this country back.

NOW you're an American!! And it feels good, doesn't it??
