Stonington Planning OKs Microbrewery Zoning Change

The Economic Development Commission thinks the change will help reuse aging buildings.

There’s good news for beer lovers in and around Stonington.

The Stonington Planning and Zoning Commission gave the OK for an application that would change zoning regulations to allow microbreweries and brew pubs, according to the New London Day.

Andrew Rodgers, the head brewer at Cottrell Brewing in Pawcatuck, filed the application for a special use permit for the Mystic Junction building at 40-44 Washington St. in Mystic.

The Economic Development Commission supported the application, which will help reuse the aging mill buildings in the town.
