Stonington Receives Over $350,000 For Small Harbor Improvements

Sixteen different Connecticut municipalities this week had Small Harbor Improvement Projects approved for state funding.

STONINGTON, CT - Sixteen different Connecticut municipalities this week had Small Harbor Improvement Projects approved for state funding. The total amount of funding that will be handed out tops $4 million.

The money allotted is under the jurisdiction of the Connecticut Port Authority’s ā€œGrants-In- Aidā€ for improvements to ports and marinas. The work includes dreading and navigational directional work.

Stonington will receive $390,000 for South Pier/Town Dock dredging and breakwater reconstruction.

  • Clinton, reconstruct/dredge boat ramp, $110,000
  • Stamford, West Beach Boat Ramp and Docks, $120,000
  • Madison, marina study, $90,000
  • Milford, Lisman Landing dock repairs, $398,000
  • Norwalk, reconstruction of visitors docks, $908,250
  • Groton, Town – new Nautilus Dock, $730,000
  • Groton, City – new Thames Street Dock, $54,400

  • Stratford, Emergency Service Dock, $13,700
  • Chester, design and planning for Chester Creek dredging, $15,000
