Stonington Students Deliver Bravery Bags To Kids At Westerly Hospital
Stonington students recently brought Bravery Bags to children at Westerly Hospital and those who have a family member being treated.

STONINGTON, CT — Students from West Vine Street School in Stonington recently delivered 30 Bravery Bags to Westerly Hospital to be given to children who are receiving care or with a family member being treated in the Emergency Department.
The Bravery Bags were a community service project for the 23 fourth and fifth graders who participated in the school’s Student Leadership after school program. The bags include travel-sized products, snacks, coloring books and crayons, fidget toys, stuffed animals and handmade cards from the students.

“This was a nice way for our students to participate in something where they feel they can make a difference,” Kristen Morehouse, Stonington schools’ curriculum coordinator. “This was very powerful for them.”
“As an Emergency Department we are touched by their kindness,” said Westerly Hospital Emergency Department Nurse Manager Bethany Gingerella. “These bags are a very thoughtful and compassionate gesture to make a difference both in the community and for our patients.”
