UPDATE: Cooling Shelter Areas Open; The Heat Is On
Heat is the number one weather-related killer in the US. Slow down and drink lots of water.

Stonington First Selectman Edward Haberek has posted on his Facebook page that "Due to the oppressive heat, cool shelter areas in the town areas are available to the public at Human Services & Police Station Comm Room."

This week, while Stonington, Pawcatuck and Mystic are on the shoreline and may experience slight relief from more inland communities, the forecast calls for rain Monday with a high of 91. Tuesday through Friday expect mostly sunny days with temps nearing 90.
