Velvet Mill Open Studios

Friday, June 28th, 2012, 5:00 - 8:00pm and Saturday, June 29th, 10-4pm

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the artists and artisans at the Stonington Velvet Mill welcomes the public with open studios in this historic and restored building.

Join us for Friday night’s opening studio stroll, from 5-8pm and return on Saturday 10-4pm to revisit studios, see demonstrations, participate in tastings and other fun activities. Maps will help you explore the nooks and crannies of this historic Velvet Mill. You are guaranteed to have a fascinating and enjoyable time.

Over 30 studios will give visitors of all ages an opportunity to explore the works and worlds of ceramicists, creative arts therapists, designers, glassblowers, jewelry makers, metal artists, painters, photographers, Fine Art and Screen printers, restorers, sculptors, and weavers.

Since last year a variety of new studios and businesses have popped up all throughout the mill and include an artisanal bakery, a microbrewery and a vintage clothing boutique.
