Voters Approve 2018-19 Budget For Stonington: Report

Stonington voters overwhelmingly approved the proposed 2018-19 budget this week.

STONINGTON, CT — On Tuesday, Stonington voters overwhelmingly approved the proposed 2018-19 budget during a referendum, the New London Day reported.

According to the Day, voters approved a budget of $70.25 million, an increase of over $2.3 million compared to the current budget. The proposed tax rate is 22.68.

Town officials said the budget process was open and transparent, according to the Day. Only 7 percent of the town's registered voters cast ballots.
