WEATHER UPDATE: Thunderstorms, Possible Hail Forecast for Wednesday into Thursday

Thunderstorms and strong wind gusts are expected to hit the area Wednesday into Thursday.

Welcome to spring — it’s really starting to feel seasonal now, with the recent rain showers. From Wednesday into Thursday, forecasters are calling for gusty winds, rain, thunderstorms and small hail in certain areas, making for poor Lyrid meteor shower viewing conditions.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of showers after 1 a.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Low around 41. Southwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 56. Slight chance of showers. West wind 14 to 16 mph.

Hartford County

Wednesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 62. South wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
