Woman Charged with Embezzling Close to $18,000 from Stonington Employer: Police
She is suspected of using a company credit card to make personal charges.

STONINGTON, CT – Police said a woman is facing embezzlement charges after using a company credit card to make personal charges, according to the Westerly Sun.
Marissa Yalango, 35, of Niantic appeared in court Tuesday and pleaded not guilty, according to the Westerly Sun. She is charged with using a company credit card to rack up purchases over four months, amounting to nearly $18,000 in debt.
The suspect turned herself in to Stonington Police after learning of a warrant out for her arrest, according to the Westerly Sun. Yalango is a former bookkeeper for Pete’s Electric Co. in Pawcatuck.
