The Mystic & Noank Library is presenting a series of discussions on different topics relating to divorce from the woman’s perspective. Alicia Pena, LCSW, will lead the discussions. The second discussion in the series takes place on Tuesday, October 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The topic is “Navigating Parenthood After Divorce.”
Within the complexities of divorce, the most difficult to negotiate is the custody of children. There are no easy answers or solutions, and everyone involved has the good intention of doing “what is best for the children.” Discussion and decisions are often made outside of the children’s hearing.
During the hour, attendees will “wear the children’s shoes” and look at custody issues from the children’s perspective.
Alicia Pena is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker with many years experience working with children and families. She is a psychotherapist in private practice in Waterford, Connecticut. The discussion is free and open to the public. Limited childcare will be available by advance registration only. For more information or for childcare, call (860) 536-7721 or email mnldevelopment@juno.com.(860) 572-7211.
