3-Acre Brush Fire Extinguished In Stratford

The blaze happened over the weekend near Main Street and Short Beach Park in Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — Firefighters put out a roughly 3-acre brush fire Saturday in Stratford.

Officials were called to the blaze about 3 p.m. near Main Street and Short Beach Park, according to Assistant Chief Michael Camperlengo, who said no one was injured in the fire and nearby structures were not damaged.

Firefighters were on scene about two hours, Camperlengo said, and the cause of the blaze remained under investigation Monday. The incident commander for the fire was Assistant Chief Steven Alesevich.
