Camp Sikorsky in Stratford Provides Educational and Recreational Weekend to Hundreds of Boy and Girl Scouts

More than 530 Boy and Girl Scouts from five states spent the weekend at the 14th Annual Camp Sikorsky.

More than 530 Boy and Girl Scouts from five states, including Connecticut, spent last weekend (Sept. 19-21) at Sikorsky Aircraft world headquarters in Stratford for the 14th annual Camp Sikorsky.

Camp Sikorsky provides Scouts the opportunity to pitch tents on the company’s front lawn and earn merit badges in aviation and other fields with the help of more than 80 Sikorsky volunteers. Pictured here are Girl Scouts Devin Imberati, Clare Callahan, Jackie Kloos and Diane Rambadt from Troop #50574 in New Fairfield.

Camp Sikorsky has hosted more than 5,000 Boy and Girl Scouts since 2001. Sikorsky proudly sponsors this event annually as part of its overall community support program and its efforts specifically to promote STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math ̶ education. Camp Sikorsky is a great opportunity to introduce scouts to aviation as a possible future career and to help them understand the engineering, technology and other paths open to them as they plan for college and beyond. It’s a great learning experience and fun weekend.
