Cardboard Fire Extends To Building In Stratford
Crews quickly extinguished a fire outside a building Tuesday afternoon in Stratford, according to officials.
STRATFORD, CT — Crews extinguished a fire outside a building Tuesday afternoon in Stratford.
Engine 1, Tac 5, Truck 1, and Car 3 were dispatched to Ontario Street around 1 p.m. on the report of an outside fire, according to a post on the Stratford Professional Firefighters IAFF 998 union’s Facebook page.
“Upon arrival units found a large pile of cardboard burning up against the building,” officials wrote in the post. “The assignment was upgraded to add Engines 2 and 3. The exterior fire was quickly extinguished and there was some minor extension into the building that was kept in check by the sprinkler system.”

The fire is being investigated by the Stratford Fire Marshal’s Office.
