Come Out to Savin Rock Tonight to See If Stratford's Colon Has 'The Voice'

The winner of NBC's national singing competition, "The Voice," will be announced at 8 p.m. tonight. Some residents are gathering to watch the results show at Savin Rock Roasting Company.

This is it.

Tonight it will be unveiled whether or not Stratford native Javier Colon is the winner of NBC's "The Voice," and thus receives a record deal and a $100,000 prize.

Last night, Colon went head-to-head against the three other finalists in the countrywide competition. About 40 locals came out to watch the final performances at Paradise Pizza on Main Street in Stratford.

Stratford resident Rob Goodnow said Colon "nailed it."

For the results show tonight, some residents - including Rosemary Martin, a former theater arts teacher who worked with Colon at Bunnell High School before he graduated in 1995 - are tuning into the TVs at Savin Rock Roasting Company, located at 946 Ferry Blvd., Stratford.

The final show of "The Voice" starts at 8 p.m.
