Food Drive, June 13, 10AM-Noon, at Lordship Community Church

Join Lordship Community Church, 179 Prospect Drive, Stratford, in a Drive-Thru food drive to benefit the food pantry at South End Community Center. If you would like to donate to the food drive, mark your calendar for Saturday, June 13th from 10-noon when volunteers will be collecting donations in Lordship Community Church's front driveway. Please enter from Prospect Drive and exit onto Crown Street. To make collections safe and convenient, volunteers will collect the donations without drivers having to leave their cars. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please do so through our Facebook Fundraiser at https://www.facebook.com/donate/678973799331979/?fundraiser_source=external_url. All non-perishable food items are gratefully accepted. Please refrain from donating food items with expired dates as those cannot be distributed. Canned goods with 'pop-top' lids are appreciated. Healthy food items are in need especially for those with specific diets and for their nutrition value. Suggested items include: canned vegetables & beans (no salt added or low sodium); canned tuna/chicken (in water, low sodium); canned fruit (100% fruit juice or water); canned soup/stew/chili (low sodium, 480 mg. or less); peanut butter & jelly; pasta (whole grain or whole wheat); pasta sauce (low sodium, 480 mg. or less, sugar 8 g. or less); apple sauce (unsweetened); macaroni & cheese; rice (brown, wild rice, quinoa); oatmeal or whole grain Cream of Wheat; granola bars; popcorn (kernels or microwave); cereal (whole grain, sugar 6 g. or less, fiber 3 g. or more); juice boxes & 100% fruit juice; water; seltzer; tea bags; coffee; shelf-stable milk (such as Parmalat, 1% low fat or fat free); soy or almond milk (non-refrigerated, unsweetened); lite salad dressings; salsa; honey; vinegar; and vegetable, olive, or canola oil.
