Letter To The Editor: Registrar's Rebuttal On Campaign Signs

Democratic Registrar of Voters Rick Marcone responds to a letter from the Stratford DTC chair about campaign signs in the registrar primary.

To the editor,

What newcomer Mr. Taccogna doesn’t seem to understand is that it’s not only about signs and the disregard for zoning regulations, but a pattern of failures of recent leadership in the Democratic Party to follow simple rules. They seem to believe the rules don’t apply to them, or they can just ignore them.

They endorse candidates that don’t live in districts they want to represent. They fail to follow simple calendars supplied by the Secretary of the State and endorse outside the allowable dates, and the list goes on. When they get caught they go into spin mode. That’s not how I, my office, or real leaders operate.

It’s a shame because their incompetence causes embarrassment to good people.

Seems the only thing Mr. Taccogna and I agree on is a dislike for signs, but if you’re going to use them, follow the rules.

Regards,

Rick Marcone
