Man Accused Of Assaulting 3-Month-Old Child: Stratford Police

Police said the man is accused of assaulting the child after an argument ensued while the child was in his custody.

STRATFORD, CT — A Bridgeport man is accused of assaulting a 3-month-old child in Stratford in July, according to police.

A woman called police from Bridgeport Hospital in July reporting that the child had sustained bruising on his legs, arms and possibly had broken ribs.

Police said the woman accused Luis Companiony, 21, of assaulting the child after an argument ensued while the child was in his custody.

A warrant for Companiony’s arrest was obtained following an investigation, according to police.

Companiony was arrested Sept. 6 after a motor vehicle stop, police said. He was charged with risk of injury to child and second-degree assault.

Companiony was being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 26, according to state judicial records.
