Man Accused Of Hitting Woman With Car In Stratford: Report

A man is accused of speeding across a parking lot and intentionally striking his fiancé​e, according to a report.

STRATFORD, CT — A Milford man is accused of intentionally hitting his fiancée with his car in the parking lot of a Stratford Walmart on Tuesday, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.

Anthony Assad, 34, was charged with first-degree assault, evading responsibility in a serious injury, and reckless driving.

He is accused of driving his Honda at a high rate of speed across a parking lot, then striking the woman, who was seriously injured. However, Assad said the situation was "a misunderstanding" and that he accidentally struck her.
