Man Charged In Armed Bank Robbery In Stratford: Police

The man, who is also suspected of robbing banks in Milford and Woodbridge, was identified by "creepy eyes," according to a report.

STRATFORD, CT — A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with an armed robbery in Stratford, according to police.

The robbery occurred around 3 p.m. at the Milford Savings Bank on Main Street in Paradise Green in Stratford on March 23, according to police.

Police said around $2,250 was stolen from the bank in the robbery.

Scott Watkins, 41, was charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree larceny. Watkins was incarcerated for an unrelated incident and arraigned at the time of his arrest at court, according to police.

The Connecticut Post reports Watkins is also suspected of robbing banks in Milford and Woodbridge, and could be charged soon in those cases.

Police said several witnesses identified Watkins as the suspect by citing what they described as his “creepy eyes,” according to the Post.
