Man Wanted In Shooting Taken Into Custody By Stratford Police

The Bridgeport man was taken into custody by Stratford police and turned over Wednesday​ to police from Darien, where the shooting occurred.

STRATFORD, CT — A 34-year-old Bridgeport man was taken into custody in Stratford and arrested on a warrant in connection with a drive-by shooting in Darien, according to Darien police. No injuries were reported in the shooting.

Frantz Maignan, of North Summerfield Street, was taken into custody by Stratford police and turned over Wednesday to Darien police. The circumstances of his arrest were not disclosed.

  • Criminal use of a firearm
  • Criminal possession of a firearm
  • Unlawful discharge of a firearm (seven counts)
  • First-degree reckless endangerment

The shooting occurred Aug. 1. Maignan is accused of firing numerous gunshots from a moving vehicle at another vehicle on West Avenue in Darien.

Darien detectives were quick to identify Maignan as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Maignan was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail, and was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Stamford Superior Court.
