STRATFORD, CT — Emergency personnel responded Wednesday to a medical emergency on the Housatonic River, according to a tweet from the Stratford Fire Department.

The emergency involved a patient on a sailboat on the river, according to the tweet, timestamped about 2:30 p.m. A paramedic reached the patient by taxi boat and a Stratford marine unit took the patient to shore.
