New Boating Certification Class Offered In Stratford
The class is a new addition to the Stratford Recreation Department's available courses.
STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Recreation Department is offering a boating and personal watercraft certification class this summer. The class is a new addition to the department's available courses. Successfully completing the eight-hour class qualifies participants for a Connecticut safe boating certificate and a certificate of personal watercraft operation, also known as a boat and jet ski license.
The class is taught by Safe Boating Connecticut and costs $125, plus an additional $50 to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The course is open to children ages 12 and up, as well as adults.
The department is offering three different class times at Birdseye Municipal Complex, 468 Birdseye St.:

• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 13;
• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 27;
• 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, July 23 and July 25.
