UPDATE: Milford Man Struck, Killed by Train in Stratford
The man was struck by an Amtrak train heading to Boston on Wednesday morning.

UPDATE, 9:30 p.m.:
A 38-year-old Milford man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Wednesday morning at Stratford’s Main Street station, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports officials are withholding the man’s name until his next of kin is notified.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police “said there does not appear to be criminality involved,” according to the Post.

UPDATE, 9:20 a.m. Metro North says, “Train Service between New Haven and Bridgeport has resumed with delays due to police activity as a result of a trespasser struck by a train.
New Haven Line customers traveling through the vicinity of Stratford should anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes.”
The Amtrak train was headed from Washington, D.C. to Boston, NBC Connecticut reports.
UPDATE 9 a.m. NBC Connecticut reports that the person struck has been killed and Metro-North officials say the person was not authorized to be on the tracks.
The accident occurred at 8:27 a.m. and trains continue to be delayed through the Stratford area.
Metro North says “Service between New Haven and Bridgeport is temporarily suspended due to police activity as a result of a trespasser struck by a train.”

Update 8:50 a.m. A person has been hit by an Amtrak train near the Stratford train station on Main Street. Trains have been stopped, the Connecticut Post reports.
