Police Investigate ‘Suspicious’ Materials At Beach In Stratford
Officials said the beach has been cleared of police activity and an arrest is expected in connection with the incident.
STRATFORD, CT — Police were at Short Beach in Stratford on Tuesday investigating “suspicious or hazardous materials” as part of a larger investigation, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti.
Eannotti said Stratford police, with assistance from Connecticut State Police, were conducting part of an ongoing investigation that led them to Short Beach.
“This activity was part of a larger in progress investigation,” Eannotti wrote in a news release on Tuesday evening. “At this time the beach is clear of police activity.

“Investigators anticipate an arrest in the incident and no further information is available at this time. There is no threat to the public.”
