Stolen Vehicle Out Of Stratford Recovered In Darien: Police
Police said they found the vehicle in Darien on Feb. 16.
STRATFORD, CT — Darien police said they recovered a stolen car out of Stratford while investigating a report of a stolen Jeep in town.
On Feb 16 shortly after 3:30 a.m., Darien police officers responded to a home on Hollow Tree Ridge Road on a report of a stolen motor vehicle.
Darien authorities were contacted by Rye (NY) police who said they were trying to stop a 2015 Jeep that was being followed by another stolen car from their town, police noted. Information on the Jeep came back to a Hollow Tree Ridge Road residence.

"When speaking with the homeowner [on Hollow Tree Ridge Road] they confirmed that their Jeep was missing from their driveway," Darien police said in a crime summary. "While checking the neighborhood, officers located a stolen vehicle out of Stratford parked in the roadway. The vehicle had a smashed window with the ignition removed. A Darien detective responded to the scene for processing."
An investigation is ongoing, police said.
