Stratford Community Center Needs New Home After Ouster: Report
The nonprofit organization, which provides services for South End residents, was notified by the town that it needs to move out of its space

STRATFORD, CT — The Alliance for Community Empowerment is looking for a new home after receiving notice from the town that the nonprofit organization will need to move out of its space on Bates Street in Stratford, according to the Connecticut Post.
Officials with the organization, which offers an early learning program for children and other services for South End residents, told the Post the notice came as a surprise and at the worst possible time, with the COVID-19 pandemic still affecting the community.
The notice states the town is “reclaiming the space to deliver essential programs at the South End Community Center” and officials said talks are ongoing to determine what other space may be available to the alliance, according to the Post.
