Stratford Coronavirus Update: 14 New Cases In Town

Confirmed cases of the new coronavirus spiked Friday in Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — The number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus had increased significantly in Stratford as of Friday. An email from the mayor's office Friday reported 52 confirmed cases in town — 14 more than Thursday's total.

The spike in confirmed cases marks a deviation from a pattern of what appeared to be a relatively slow spread of the virus in Stratford. For most of the past week, the confirmed case count consistently grew by five or fewer cases per day in town.

Statewide, there were 4,914 confirmed new coronavirus cases as of Friday, 131 of which were fatal and 2,716 of which were in Fairfield County, according to state data.
