Stratford To Hold Drive-Thru Food Pantry
The goal of the event is to safely address growing food insecurity rates amid the new coronavirus outbreak.
STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Health Department, in conjunction with the Connecticut Food Bank and Holy Name of Jesus Church, is hosting a drive-thru food pantry to safely address growing food insecurity rates amid the new coronavirus outbreak.
The event will be held 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave. The drive-thru pantry will replace the walk-up mobile food truck that is typically stationed once a month at the Stratford church.
“In the midst of this coronavirus crisis, individuals and families need access to resources, such as food, now more than ever,” Stratford Director of Health Andrea Boissevain said in a town news release. “We are so grateful that we can continue to offer this service to our residents.”
