Man Accused of Assaulting Woman in Supermarket Strike
The man reportedly told police he has been a victim of "supermarket intimidation" before and wasn't going to be intimidated again.
A Stratford man faces assault charges for allegedly ramming an unsuspecting female shopper at Shop Rite because he thought she was about to ram him and he has been a victim of “supermarket intimidation” before and told police he was not going to be intimidated again, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports that Joseph Jessup, a 59-year-old engineer with Hewlett Packard, was arrested for the incident in which the 53-year-old woman, also from Stratford, suffered an injury to her upper lip.
Jessup is accused of ramming the woman with a hand-held shopping basket while she was placing items into her shopping cart, according to the Post.
