TRUMBULL, CT — Officers arrested a Stratford man who stole a motorcycle with the help of Ring doorbell video, according to police.

A Trumbull resident reported that his or her motorcycle was stolen July 29, 2019. Video showed a white cargo van leaving the area around the time the motorcycle was stolen. Fairfield police were investigating a similar incident around the same time.

Police determined the van was a rented U-Haul. Fairfield police traced the rental back to Edgar Crespo, 29, and were able to obtain a search warrant for his cellphone, police said. He had a picture of the stolen Trumbull motorcycle and text messages about the theft, according to police.
