Stratford Man Charged With Assault After Fight: Newtown Police

STRATFORD, CT — Police charged a Stratford man with assault July 2 at a Red River Lane residence in Newtown.

Newtown police were dispatched to the home following a report of a fight there, around 5:45 p.m.

Police arrested Charles Tyler, 62, of Stratford, after a brief investigation at the scene.

Tyler was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. He was held on a $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear July 10 in Danbury Superior Court.

Tyler was also recently charged in connection with a stabbing July 9 on South Main Street in Newtown.
