The woman was carrying a gun, which she had a permit for, tucked in the waistband of her clothes when she went to pick up her daughter.

STRATFORD, CT - Stratford’s Elizabeth Vargas, 37, was granted accelerated rehabilitation in a court appearance on Wednesday related to her arrest last month when she showed up at her daughter’s school with a handgun, according to the Connecticut Post.
Vargas, who was carrying an unloaded .380-caliber pistol, was called to Wooster Middle School on the morning of Jan. 20 to pick up her daughter who had been involved in a fight. Vargas had a valid permit for the pistol, but guns are not allowed in Connecticut schools.
Vargas told police that she was on her way to go to the shooting range with her brother when she received the phone call from the school, according to the Post.
